This online course covers (a) code and load requirements including engineering considerations; (b) structure, materials and failure mechanisms including identifying various types of structural materials and the differences, types of failure and other structural concerns; and (c) soils and footings specifically soil bearing capacity; spread footings and use of rebar; caisson footings; frost heave and base plates and anchors.
