The COVID-19 crisis has unified the country in a common mission to take the necessary steps to mitigate the virus’ spread. Civic officials and business leaders in every city must work diligently to ensure public safety. However, locales heavily dependent on tourism, such as Las Vegas, will have to undertake extra measures to ensure tourists stay well and feel safe enough to return.
Screaming Images is a digital-print provider and promotional-graphic fabricator that has operated in Las Vegas since 2005. They have produced outsized promotional pieces for several casino properties, for special events such as the Golden Daisy Carnival, and Las Vegas’ NHL team, the Golden Knights.
James Swanson, Screaming Images’ Principal, said Sales VP Scott Proctor has reached out to various property managers about installing sneeze guards and safety barriers. Articles and newscasts that highlight the importance of public-space barriers have piqued customer interest, and management from El Cortez, located in downtown Las Vegas, has ordered barriers for their gaming area.
Screaming Images was able to re-purpose in-house materials by cutting 1/8, ¼ and ½ inch thick acrylic slabs to shape on its MultiCam CNC router. They avoided the need for hardware or chemical adhesives by interlocking panels like puzzle pieces. Swanson said, “We’re offering the panels to restaurants, bars and other venues, and we’re eager to get our staff off furlough and back to work.”
The many challenges of COVID-19 have reminded him that, in business, it is vital to always to remember that “anything can happen and you have to always be prepared to provide solutions.”
Nevada Governor, Steve Sisolak, has Nevada under a stay-at-home order through May 15. America is undoubtedly looking forward to the day when Las Vegas is back in all its decadent splendor. Screaming Images is doing its part to help the city responsibly deliver its signature brand of fun.
